Hickory Home Run Trot 5k
The Hickory Crawdads & Fleet Feet Hickory Home Run Trot 5k is a fun running event held at L.P. Frans Stadium in Hickory, North Carolina. This 5k race creatively incorporates baseball themes, with participants running around the stadium to "collect" three bases and finishing on home plate.
The course features a new route that includes Hickory's Aviation Walk. Runners receive a t-shirt (if registered by the deadline) and a ticket to a Crawdads game. The first 100 registrants also get a voucher for a hot dog and soda at a subsequent game.
Top male and female finishers earn the honor of throwing out the first pitch at a Crawdads game. Age group awards are given across multiple categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
