The start and finish are located on the fire road just north of the Old Zoo picnic area in Griffith Park. The course layout includes an out-and-back route to the Hollywood Sign Viewpoint and offers views of the Griffith Observatory and Downtown Los Angeles.
Course details and logistics
Course terrain varies by event. The 8M course is about 6 miles of trails and 2 miles of asphalt. The 8K has about 3.12 miles of trails and 1.9 miles of asphalt. The 5K is 3.12 miles of trails; the kid run is all trails. Aid stations are listed on course maps for each distance. Porta-potties are at the start/finish only. Chip timing, gear check, finish line snacks, participant medals, and event t-shirts are provided. The organizer does not offer refunds but allows a one-time transfer or a one-time deferral if requested at least 14 days before the event. Parking near the Merry-Go-Round lots is limited.
