Event details
The Homerun for Habitat takes place on October 19, 2025, in Southaven, MS. The race program includes a 5K Run/Walk, a Kids' Dash (open to ages 3-12), and a Spirit Runner entry. Entry fees listed are $30 for the 5K ($25 for ages 1-12), $25 for the Kids' Dash, and $25 for the Spirit Runner; prices increase or close on October 18, 2025. Packet pickup includes a shirt and goody bag. The event is professionally managed by Best Times and will use chip timing. Finisher medals are awarded to all runners and Kids Dash finishers, and brick paver awards are given to the top three in each age group.
Location, fundraising and on-site activities
The event is held at Silo Square, a mixed-use development in Southaven across from Snowden Grove Park. The Hernando DeSoto Habitat for Humanity affiliate has previously helped 31 families, with 15 homes built as a direct result of this race; more than 10,000 past participants have raised over $500,000. The stated fundraising goal for 2025 is $60,000 to help build one home in DeSoto County. Event features include a Fall Fest with inflatables, games, arts and crafts, food and drink from local restaurants, live pre- and post-race music, team and school fundraising competitions, and on-site awards presentations.
