Purpose and fundraising
The event benefits a 501(c)(3) set up to support two children and their family living with Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease (ARPKD). Proceeds are used to help cover medical and related expenses. Sample costs listed by the organizers include one month of oral medications at $233.75; syringes for both children every 60 days at $71.92; Gainesville trip fuel at $20–$30 per trip; hospital or appointment meals at $30–$50; ambulance fees at $150; and lab draws at $150.
