Indian River Kayak Bike Biathlon
The Indian River Kayak Bike Biathlon, held in Indian River, Michigan, is a unique multi-sport event combining kayaking and biking. Now in its 18th year, the race features a 2.24-mile kayak segment along the scenic Inland Waterway, including Burt Lake and the Indian River, followed by an 11.68-mile bike ride on the picturesque North Central State Trail, which has a crushed limestone surface. The event starts and transitions at DeVoe Beach, with the finish near the Indian River Chamber of Commerce.
Limited to 100 participants aged 12 to 100, the biathlon offers a fun, competitive atmosphere with awards, refreshments, and proceeds supporting local trail maintenance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
