About the race
Jackson County Ultras is a four-distance ultramarathon held in Brownstown, Indiana, at Pyoca Camp and Retreat Center in the Jackson-Washington State Forest. Distances available include 10 miles, 50K, 100K, and a 100K relay, with pacers allowed for final laps and a strict 24-hour cutoff. The course is rugged and brutally steep, offering ridgeline views and routes around two lakes to reach the highest point in Jackson County; the direction alternates yearly (2025 is counterclockwise).
Runners enjoy a supportive, outdoorsy atmosphere with well-stocked aid stations, heated lodge drop-bag facilities, on-site meals, and post-race celebrations, plus live tracking and finisher awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
