Event overview

The Jamestown Rhode Race is a Half Marathon held on Conanicut Island in Jamestown, Rhode Island. The 2026 edition takes place on September 26, 2026. The event is R.I. Department of Environmental Management Green-Certified. Registration includes a gender- and race-specific tech t-shirt and a finisher medal for half marathon participants. Free race photos and live participant tracking via the RaceJoy mobile app are provided.

Course and logistics

The course circumvents nearly the entire island with views of Narragansett Bay and the Newport Pell Bridge. The route passes Fort Getty, Mackeral Cove, historic Watson Farm, Jamestown village, windmills, estuaries and farms. There is one small unpaved section before mile 2 and a long incline around miles 9 and 10. The official course limit for the half marathon is 3.5 hours. Aid stations along the route provide water, medical support, Gu energy gels, Nuun electrolyte drink and bananas; port-a-potties are located at all aid stations. Packet pick-up is available at Rhode Runner in Providence and on site at Fort Getty. Parking is at Fort Getty with capacity restrictions; only registered runners may park there and proof of registration is required for access. Spectator locations named by organizers include Jamestown harbor, Freebody Road, Lawn Street School and Mackerel Cove.
