Jelm Mountain Run
Jelm Mountain Run, held near Jelm, Wyoming, offers a 10-mile out-and-back and a 50k (three laps of the same course). The route climbs from about 7,618 feet to the Infrared Observatory atop Jelm Mountain at over 9,600 feet, with more than 2,000 feet of total elevation gain, on improved jeep roads with no course markings. Aid stations are halfway up and at the summit, with water and light snacks; runners should bring their own bottle.
The 50k is a triple-Jelm challenge. Proceeds benefit Albany County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue. Registration includes a hoodie and a camaraderie-filled mountain-running atmosphere. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
