Tejas Dirt Festival : event and location
Tejas Dirt Festival (formerly the J&J Race) is a multi-discipline outdoor event held at Camp Eagle, 6424 Hackberry Road, Rocksprings, TX 78880. The next edition is scheduled for September 5, 2026. Registration opens mid-November. All race activities and packet pickup take place on the Camp Eagle campus; Camp Eagle requires a mandatory waiver and a $10 land access fee for everyone over age 3.

The course is hilly with rocky sections, scree, and riverside trail segments. Course markings include orange caution tape, yellow arrows, distance signs, and reflective markers for dark-hour events. Trail run aid stations are placed about every 2–4 miles; mountain bike racers can expect a feed zone about midway through the 10 mile lap. Timing chips are used for all events except the Youth 1 Mile and biathlons; running chips are worn on the ankle and bike chips on the bike. Pacers are not allowed. Ruck division rules: mandatory weigh-in, 20 lb required if under 150 lb, 30 lb required if over 150 lb, weight must be carried on the back, no sling bags or trekking poles. Drop bag service is not provided by staff; participants may place their own drop bags at aid stations or the Pavilion. Youth entries are discounted and the Youth 1 Mile is an untimed event.
