Judy M. Merritt Memorial 5K

The Judy M. Merritt Memorial 5K & Family Fun Day is an annual running event held at Hoover's Veterans Park in Birmingham, Alabama. This rain-or-shine 5K run/walk supports scholarships for Jefferson State Community College students.

Participants can run, walk, or join virtually through the Sleep In 5K challenge. The event features a festive atmosphere with free popcorn, cotton candy, a DJ, face painting, and other family-friendly activities. Medals are awarded to top finishers overall and in various age groups.

Packet pickup is available before race day and on-site. Proceeds benefit student scholarships, honoring the legacy of Dr. Judy M.
