Event overview
The Jump off Joe races include a marathon, half marathon, and 10k held near Jump off Joe Mountain in Kennewick, WA on September 5, 2026. Distances offered:
- 26.2 mi - full marathon
- 13.1 mi - half marathon
- 10 km - 10k
All three distances share the same start and finish location near the intersection of Owens Road and Highway 397. The half and full marathon routes reach the summit of Jump off Joe Mountain and provide views over the Tri-Cities and down into Oregon. The course is not certified and is marked with signage, flagging tape, and/or flour arrows.
Course and race logistics
All courses run mainly on rough gravel roads and resemble a trail run more than a typical road race. Aid stations are spaced about 3 to 5 miles apart; some stations offer limited service with water, gels, electrolytes, and ice, while others offer full service with PB&Js, chips, fruit, drinks, and gels. The event is cup-less; participants must bring their own bottle, bladder, or reusable cup to refill at aid stations. There are no restrooms or porta-potties on the course, and runners are asked to pack out used toilet paper or wipes. Parking is allowed along Owens Road near the start/finish; do not park on Highway 397 or drive offroad. The organizer notes footwear should be appropriate for gravel roads. Registration fees increase on April 1 and August 1, with some in-person registration available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
