Kill Bill's Oyster Dome Challenge
Kill Bill’s Oyster Dome Challenge is a challenging trail running event held at Blanchard Mountain, Washington. Participants can choose between a 25k or a 50k race, with the 50k consisting of two loops of the 25k course. The course features a tough ascent known as Kill Bill Hill, a tribute to local ultra runner Bill Ball, and includes rugged, root-covered trails with significant elevation gain of about 3,500 feet per loop.
Runners traverse scenic single-track trails with canopy cover, culminating at Oyster Dome, where they enjoy views of Samish Bay and a freshly shucked oyster. The event emphasizes a no-trace ethic and offers aid stations with water, sports drinks, and snacks. Parking is limited, requiring a Discover Pass, and carpooling is encouraged.
