Event
The Kodiak Mountain Series is a three-day stage race held on Kodiak Island, Alaska. The event features one mountain run each day and accepts individual and team entries. Results are based on the sum of each participant’s times from all three stages. Awards are given in Men’s, Women’s, and Teams categories with no age divisions. Each stage also has a King of the Mountain (KOM) prize for the fastest ascent.
The series is sanctioned by USATF and will award cash prizes for top finishers who are USATF members. The event lists Island Trails Network as an event partner and is Trail Sisters approved.
Courses
- 5.91 miles - 2,238 ft gain (Heitman Mountain)
- 7.76 miles - 2,777 ft gain (Sharatin Mountain)
- 5.00 miles - 2,138 ft gain (Pyramid Mountain Loop)
The courses include single-track trails, alpine sections with shale and rock, ridge running, and lake crossings. Some sections are flagged to guide runners where trails split.
