Event overview
The Krispy Kreme Challenge is a student-run, charity-based 5-mile race in Raleigh, North Carolina that raises funds for the North Carolina Children’s Hospital. The event is scheduled for 2026-02-07 and is held at 2011 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh, NC 27607. The listed race distance is 5 Mi. All participants receive a race t-shirt and pay the same registration fee regardless of category.
Categories and rules
The race offers multiple participation categories: Challenger, Casual, No Doughnut, Challenger Team, Casual Team, and No Doughnut Team. The Challenger category is for individuals who attempt to eat all 12 doughnuts and complete the course in under one hour; only registered Challengers are eligible for winning, and there is no penalty if a registered Challenger does not complete the challenge. The No Doughnut category is for individuals who do not want doughnuts; those runners receive a different bib so volunteers will not give them doughnuts.
Challenger Teams compete as groups and must have six runners to be eligible for awards. Casual Teams and No Doughnut Teams may include any number of runners and take a more relaxed approach to doughnut consumption. The event describes team awards and additional competitions for casual teams. Sponsors named for the event include Aloft, Circa, Lux Resources, Parker Law Office, and Coca Cola.
