Course and aid stations
Each 25-mile loop is mostly single-track trail (about 75%) with about 5% double-track carriage paths. The course includes roughly 4.5 miles of gravel roads and about 200 yards on a paved walking path; there are no sections on paved roads. The layout uses three loops with two full-service aid stations: the Cabin start/finish and Heaven Hill. The two aid stations are a short drive apart; aid stations occur every 5 to 7 trail miles.
Logistics and rules
Packet pickup is available the day before at the Cabin at 17 Russell Farms Road; runners must show government photo ID and each runner must pick up their own packet. Drop bag rules apply for 50 and 100 mile runners: drop bags will be transported to Heaven Hill, size limit 10" x 10" x 20", labeled with bib number, race distance and full name; coolers and large tubs are not accepted. Pacers are allowed for 100 mile runners only after 50 miles; 50 and 27 mile runners may not use pacers. Time limits are enforced: 27 and 50 mile races have a 16-hour cutoff and the 100 mile has a 32-hour limit. Awards are given to overall top three male and female finishers and to age group winners.
