Leaky Hourglass Ultra
The Leaky Hourglass Ultra is a unique Last Man Standing ultramarathon held in Half Way, Missouri, about 20 miles north of Springfield. The event features a challenging 4.167-mile out-and-back course on a chip-sealed rural highway with rolling hills and approximately 250 feet of elevation gain per lap. Runners start with 60 minutes to complete the first lap, but each subsequent lap reduces the cutoff time by one minute, continuing until only one runner remains.
Aid stations are located at the start/finish and turnaround points, offering fuel, water, and snacks. The course is not closed to traffic, so runners must run facing traffic and use headlamps after dark. Camping is available on-site, and professional race photos are provided free.
