Course and race details
Both events finish at Enchantment Park Event Center. The half marathon starts at Enchantment Park and runs through the Bavarian village and Riverfront Park before joining the marathon route back to the finish. Marathoners start near the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area and begin with about a 9-mile stretch through Icicle Canyon, continue north on East Leavenworth Road into the Wenatchee River bridge and Bavarian village, follow riverfront parks and Icicle Road/trails, then repeat a second lap to the finish. The course includes paved roads, dirt/gravel sections and trails. The marathon has a six hour time limit and the half marathon is open for four hours; walkers are allowed in the half marathon. Marathon participants must use bus transport from Leavenworth to the start; shuttles load at the Glacier Parking Lot (170 Highway 2). Aid stations are placed every 2-3 miles with water and Skratch sports drink; energy gels are provided near miles 10 and 21 for the marathon and near mile 8 for the half. A first aid tent and EMT-supported ambulance will be on site. No pets, strollers or tethered equipment are allowed. Finishers receive custom medals; awards must be picked up on race day.
