Course and local attractions
The course begins and finishes at the Clifton Shelter House. Runners head north on Clay Street, continue into the countryside on Tanyard Road, then turn around and return to the Shelter House. The nearby Historic Clifton Mill displays over 4 million lights that illuminate the mill, the gorge, riverbanks, trees and bridges. Participants are offered hot chocolate, Christmas goodies and a surprise Christmas gift. The Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve is a short hike (less than a half mile) from the mill; the Little Miami River funnels into a deep, narrow canyon at the gorge.
