The Lookout Mountain Trail Race takes place Saturday, December 20, 2025, on Lookout Mountain, GA. The event starts from the Covenant College campus at 13292 Scenic Highway. Distances offered include:
- 50 Miler
- 18 Miler
- 10K
The 50 mile and 18 mile races follow the same course for the 18-mile section.
Course, registration and proceeds
The course is predominantly single-track trail with climbs, runnable sections, and moderate descents. It crosses or follows exposed bluff lines with extensive views; one section can allow views of five states on a clear day. The 50 mile course crosses or follows at least five creeks and goes into the Lula Lake Land Trust area, which passes through rhododendron, mixed hardwood, and hemlock forests and by the 120-foot Lula Falls. Aid stations include hot soup and camp fires at night.
Online registration closes December 14 at midnight EST or when the maximum field is reached. Wild Trails membership offers a 10% race discount; the Trail Steward membership level provides free entry to any three races except the Upchuck 50K. Race proceeds benefit Wild Trails, a 501(c)(3) organization for trails in the greater Chattanooga area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
