The 2026 Louisiana Watermelon Festival is a 5k run held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, in Farmerville, Louisiana (403 N. Main St., Farmerville, LA 71241). The listed entry price is $30, with the price increasing after December 30, 2025. Online registration is guaranteed to include the race t-shirt for registrations completed by July 14, 2026. Proceeds from the event will go to Willpower Foundation, Inc., a volunteer non-profit in Northeast Louisiana that hosts events to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. All finishers will receive slices of locally grown Louisiana watermelon.
Course, registration and awards
The course features a fast first mile downhill and an uphill section around mile 2 described as "Watermelon Mountain." Online registration closes on July 25; race day registration will be $40. Roller blades and skates are prohibited on the racecourse. Awards are given separately for male and female competitors, including 1st Overall, 1st Overall Masters, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places within age groups: 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and over.
