Event overview
The LV5K & 1 Mile Walk/Run takes place on April 4, 2026, at Alexandria Senior High School in Alexandria, LA. The event is hosted by the Lauren Vaughn Memorial Foundation as a memorial to those who lost their lives to impaired driving. Proceeds will support the Lauren Vaughn Memorial Scholarship at NSU for the Accelerated BS to BSN Program and efforts to raise awareness about drunk and impaired driving.

The event includes in-person races, a virtual 5K option, a Sleep In option, and an Ainsley’s Angels category. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the event at Little Cakes with Big Attitude (4120 Jackson St., Alexandria, LA 71303); race day packet pickup is available before the races. Awards are given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall male and female, plus individual age-group awards for both the 5K and the 1-mile in-person races. The 5K age groups are 10 & under, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & over. The 1-mile age groups are 5 & under, 6-9, 10-13, 14-17, and 18 & over. Registrations received by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 15 will receive a shirt at packet pickup; prices increase on March 23, 2026. Limited medals are available.
