Maah Daah Hey Trail Run(s)
Maah Daah Hey Trailrun is a multi-distance trail racing series in North Dakota’s Badlands, centered around Medora. Distances range from 3.1 miles (5K) to 116 miles, with 6.2, 13.1, 26.2, and 58-mile options as well. Runners traverse the Maah Daah Hey and Buffalo Gap trails, tackling rugged, remote single-track through dramatic Badlands with creek crossings and substantial elevation gains—up to nearly 12,000 feet on the 116‑mile course.
Longer ultras northbound before turning back offer a sunrise finish. Support is sparse with checkpoints and SAG; racers must be self-reliant. Finishes in Medora include snacks, awards, and the “North Dakota Legendary” designation, occasionally with live music. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
