Magdalena Massacre

The Magdalena Massacre is a challenging trail running event held in the Magdalena Mountains, New Mexico, featuring marathon (42K) and 35K race distances. Starting and finishing at the Water Canyon Picnic Area, the course offers a mix of downhill and uphill terrain, including rough dirt roads, steep rocky jeep tracks, and scenic singletrack trails. Runners experience elevation gains up to 9,700 feet near North Baldy peak and traverse iconic trails such as trail 25A and trail 8, with technical descents and runnable dirt road sections.
