Mammoth Trail Fest
THE MAMMOTH is an ultramarathon held in Mammoth Lakes, California. The race is a permitted, self-contained loop through the Eastern Sierra, circumnavigating a 760,000-year-old caldera and linking small mountain communities. Runners pass alpine lakes, old mines, golden fall foliage, dense pines, the Glass Mountains, high desert, and Mono Lake's tufa towers, culminating in commanding views from Mammoth Mountain at 11,053 feet.
The event offers a significant prize purse for podium finishers and operates under Forest Service permits with required Spot Tracker gear. It spans multiple days with an awards ceremony in Village Plaza, celebrating the finishers after a rugged, scenic journey. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
