Canicross rules and race services
All dogs competing in canicross classes must wear designated canicross gear. Required equipment includes a harness with a "Y" chest band that does not restrict movement, and a bungee lead of 4 to 6 feet attached to a hands-free waist belt. Only one dog may be run at a time unless entered in the 2-Dog Canicross Class or the Dog Friendly 5k. The 2-Dog Canicross Class follows IFSS-style requirements for a single split bungee line with neckline. The Dog Friendly 5k has fewer restrictions but does not allow face leads, flexi leashes, or no-pull harnesses; a limit of two dogs at a time applies. The event provides a race t-shirt, post-race snacks and refreshments, local vendor booths, music, and a guided pre-race stretch session 30 minutes before the race.
