Mark the Barber's Polar Run/Walk for Life
Mark the Barber's Polar Run/Walk for Life is scheduled for Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Maple Valley Elementary School, 138 Maple Valley St., Sandusky, Michigan. The event includes the following distances and formats:
- 5K Run or Run/Walk
- 1 Mile
- 5K Walk Only
The event is a fundraiser sponsored by Right to Life of Sanilac County to raise funds for Reach the Forgotten Jail Ministry in Sanilac County. All in-person participants receive a swag bag and a finisher medal. Packet pick up and the awards ceremony take place inside Maple Valley Elementary School.
Course, logistics and awards
The 1 mile course is on the paved Diamond Trail. The 5K course uses the Diamond Trail, city streets, and some dirt roads, and finishes on the Diamond Trail. The event will be timed by Miller Race Management. Bathrooms are available inside the school and a porta-john is on site near the start/finish. Water, coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks will be available at the awards ceremony.
Awards: 1 Mile - Top 3 male and top 3 female finishers, no age groups. 5K Walk - Top 3 male and top 3 female finishers, no age groups. 5K Run/Walk - Age group awards to the top 3 in these groups: 9 & Under; 10-14; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75-79; 80 & Over.
