Marquette Trail 50
The Marquette Trail 50 is an ultramarathon event held in Marquette, Michigan's Upper Peninsula, featuring 50-kilometer and 50-mile races. The course is primarily single-track trail, challenging runners with moderate to difficult terrain, significant climbs, and technical sections. It includes four peaks—Sugarloaf, Top-of-the-World, Bareback, and Hogback—with scenic views of Lake Superior and portions running along its shoreline.
The terrain is rated "hilly" with a rugged trail surface featuring rocks, roots, and ruts. The event also offers a competitive 5K and kids' races on the preceding Friday evening. The race is volunteer-supported, with aid stations providing nutrition and hydration, and emphasizes self-sufficiency on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
