About the race
The Mayor's Challenge 5K + 1 Mile Fun Run takes place in Red Bank, New Jersey, at Poricy Park (345 Oak Hill Road). The event offers a 5K run and fitness walk, plus a 1-mile fun run. The course is a trail/cross-country route through the park, with wide grass paths, some single-track sections, and surfaces of grass, gravel and wooden platforms; it is not paved and includes hills.
Proceeds benefit Middletown's World Trade Center Memorial Gardens Fund, supporting a memorial garden and renovations for the 25th anniversary.
