Event overview
The Medoc Trail Races take place on October 17, 2026, at Medoc Mountain State Park in Hollister, North Carolina. The event comprises two trail distances:
- 10-Miler
- 5-Miler
Both races share the same start and finish area and use a series of loops on park trails. The 10-Miler includes the mountain bike trails and a summit loop. Trails include single-track sections, varied elevation with some short steep hills, and one notably challenging hill on the summit side. Much of the route runs near waterways and is marked with black signs and orange arrows; mile markers are posted.
Logistics and rules
The field is capped at 500 combined runners. The course is not certified and the 10-Miler has a cut-off time of 3 hours and 20 minutes. Timing is provided by Chip timing with Clockwork Timing. Aid stations are stocked and runners will pass aid at least three times per loop; supplies include water, Gatorade, and gels. Packet pickup is available Friday evening at the park picnic shelter and on race morning; there is no race-day registration. Parking is beside the start and bag check is in participants' cars.
Race policies include no dogs, skates, bikes, or baby joggers on course; runners must cover the course on foot; transfers and refunds are not allowed. Finishers receive event shirts (long sleeve for the 10-Miler, short sleeve for the 5-Miler), unique finisher medals, customized bibs with a trail name, post-race food, and a finisher’s surprise. Awards are given for overall places and by age groups (5-year groups for the 10-Miler, 10-year groups for the 5-Miler). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
