Mel Williams Memorial Seashore 50K
The Mel Williams Memorial Seashore 50K is a 50K trail race held on December 14, 2025, at First Landing State Park, 64th Street boat ramp, Virginia Beach, VA. The course is a two-loop trail that begins and ends at the boat ramp. Two full aid stations are located at 64th Street and Bald Cypress and offer water, Tailwind, and food; the event is cupless, so runners are advised to carry water bottles and a collapsible cup. Registrants receive a Brooks shirt and finishers receive a medal. A post-race gathering is planned at Smartmouth Brewery Pilot House, 313 32nd St., Virginia Beach; runners and volunteers receive food and one beer ticket (21+).
Registration, cutoffs and policies
Entry fees are $100 before September 1 and $125 from September 1 through December 11, 2025. The race is open to ages 18 to 100. Online registration closes December 11 or when slots fill; there is no race-day registration. Refunds are available minus a $25 admin fee through August 31; after that date there are no refunds, no transfers, and no deferrals. A waitlist is active until December 11; when a spot opens, the next person has two days to register. An eight-hour finish limit applies, with intermediate cutoffs at the loop turnaround (16 miles), Aid Station 6 (22 miles) and Aid Station 7 (25 miles). Awards are given to top overall and masters finishers and to top finishers in the listed age groups. Packet pickup is available the day before at Running Etc. Virginia Beach and on race day at the start/finish area. Volunteers receive a shirt and one beer ticket (21+). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
