About the race
Miles of Madness is a grassroots ultra-running event held at Pekin Park District Sports Complex, Pekin, Illinois. It offers 2, 6, 12, and 24-hour options with 1.2-mile laps, for solo runners or relay teams (minimum 3 members; only one team member on course at a time). The atmosphere is laid-back and community-focused, with tents, games, snacks, and a fundraiser for Tazewell Animal Protective Society (TAPS).
The race uses a trail course, not lit, requiring lights, one aid station at the start/finish, cupless policy, and occasional real food. There’s a cap of 200 participants, and awards for milestone distances plus most laps. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
