Monument Marathon : event overview

Monument Marathon is held in Scottsbluff and Gering, Nebraska. Races use sections of the historic Oregon Trail and loop around the Scotts Bluff National Monument. The event raises funds for student scholarships.

Course features include a start in Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area for the full marathon, a half marathon start at Robidoux RV park near Five Rocks Amphitheater, and a section through Mitchell Pass. Routes pass through Gering Valley, badlands, cornfields, neighborhoods, and include trails that are open to the public for this event only. A course video is available showing the routes. • Full marathon - starts in Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area; circles Scotts Bluff National Monument
• Half marathon - starts at Robidoux RV park; joins route through Mitchell Pass
• Half marathon relay - three runners; legs: 5.0 mi, 4.6 mi, 3.5 mi
• 5K - mix of pavement and gravel/dirt; views of Scotts Bluff and Dome Rock
