Mount Helena Run

The Mount Helena Run is Helena Vigilante Runners’ 9k (5.6 mile) trail race held in Helena, Montana. The course starts on Last Chance Gulch in downtown Helena and blends urban and mountain terrain, with 1.5 miles on roads before venturing into Mt. Helena City Park.

Runners climb to the summit of Mount Helena, gaining about 1,300 feet, then descend back to Last Chance Gulch for the finish. The route features single-track trails and sweeping views of the city, Prickly Pear Valley, and the Elkhorn and Big Belt Mountains. This is the 49th annual running; packet pickup occurs beforehand, and dogs or strollers are not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
