Course, timing, awards and services
The course is planned to measure within 0.1 miles of a true 5K. Directional signs and mile markers will be provided at turns. There will be three aid stations on course, with one station passed twice; aid stations will offer water, an electrolyte drink and small snacks. Packet pick-up is available on race day only; there is no strict cut-off time. Chip timing is provided by the Michigan Running Foundation with results available via text or email if selected.
Awards include three-deep age-group awards in 19 categories (10 and under through 90+), slowest-in-age-group "Turtle in Peanut" awards, overall awards for top three male and female finishers in two age bands (0-60 and 60+), and several special awards (including a "Longest Drive" award with a $20 gas card and a golden stroller award). All in-person participants receive a race shirt, a finisher medal and a custom bib. Dogs receive finisher medals, treats, and are eligible for overall dog awards.
