Mt. Tabor Tar 'n' Trail : October 19, 2025
The event takes place on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Mt. Tabor Park in Southeast Portland, Oregon (6000 SE Tabor Summit Dr. / 1171 SE 60th Ave area). It is a fundraising race that benefits the Friends of Mt. Tabor Park. Distances offered include:
- 10K run
- 5K run/walk
- 5K Kids Run (12 and under)
Course and logistics
Mt. Tabor Park has a forested trail system with three main loops: the Red Trail, the Green Trail and the Blue Trail, which circumnavigate the hill. The 5K course uses the Blue Trail; the 10K course uses all three trails. Both routes use a combination of paved roads and dirt trails and are described as hilly. Trails are marked with colored ribbon or flagging (red or pink for the Red Trail, green for the Green Trail, blue for the Blue Trail). Race day will include additional course markings and course monitors at major intersections. For the 10K, participants are expected to follow the loop order: Red first, Green second, Blue third.
