Mud Mountain Dam Marathon
The Mud Mountain Dam Marathon, organized by the Tacoma City Marathon Association, is a scenic fall running event held in Washington state. It offers marathon, half marathon, and 5K distances. The marathon starts at Mud Mountain Dam Park, featuring a mostly downhill course with a 1,191-foot net elevation loss, passing through forests, farmlands, and neighborhoods before finishing at the historic McMillin Foothills Bridge.
The half marathon begins in South Prairie and follows a paved, gradual downhill route along the Foothill Rail Trail, ending at the same finish line. The 5K is an out-and-back on the Foothills Trail. The event includes aid stations, shuttle services, finisher medals, and race swag, with proceeds supporting the Humane Society of Tacoma & Pierce County.
