National Watermelon Day Run
The National Watermelon Day Run, held in Hartford, Wisconsin at Pike Lake State Park, is a family-friendly event celebrating summer with running and walking options including 5K, 10K, and half marathon distances. The scenic, shaded trail course is part of the challenging Wisconsin Trail Assail Series, featuring natural terrain with roots, rocks, and rolling hills. New in 2025, participants can also try rucking—walking with a weighted backpack.
After the race, runners and walkers enjoy refreshing, ice-cold watermelon slices. The event offers awards, finisher keepsakes, a free kids' 1K race, and a fresh fruit bar, making it a fun and refreshing way to celebrate National Watermelon Day.
