Course, rules and included items

The course uses Johnson Branch Trails with dirt single track, rooty trails, ATV roads, and paved trails; the 5K is entirely on pavement. The route is hilly with about 900 feet of elevation gain per 15-mile loop. Historic average temperatures are listed as 32 to 53 degrees. Participants must provide their own water-carrying system because no disposable cups are provided. A headlamp is required for all participants. Pacer policy: one pacer per runner, allowed only in the final loop of the 100K. Ruck rules: runners over 150 lbs carry a 30 lb ruck; those under 150 lbs carry a 20 lb ruck; ruck sack or vest allowed.

Included items and services: event long-sleeve shirt (order deadline for guaranteed size), finisher medals and ruck patch, 1st-place awards for men and women, special 50K and 100K finisher awards, aid stations, course marking, photography, and event volunteers.
