Event details

Nature Nate's Naughty Hog takes place on December 20, 2025 at Ray Roberts Lake State Park - Johnson Branch Unit in Valley View, TX. The event offers the following distances:

  • 100K
  • 50K
  • 25K
  • 25K RUCK
  • 10K
  • 5K

The event follows a 25K loop. Shorter distances use out-and-back routes that begin and end in Valley View. Packet pickup is scheduled on the day before the event and on the race day.

Registration closes Dec 19.

Course, rules and awards

The course uses Johnson Branch Trails with dirt single track, rooty trails, ATV roads, and paved trails; the 5K is entirely on pavement. The organizer states the course is hilly, with about 900 feet of elevation per 15-mile loop. A headlamp is required for all participants. The event is a no-cup race, so runners must bring their own water-carrying system.

The 25K loop is used for all distances and the 100K allows one pacer per runner only in the final loop. The 25K RUCK has weight requirements: runners over 150 lb must carry a 30 lb ruck; runners under 150 lb must carry a 20 lb ruck. Ruck sacks or vests are allowed.

Event items include a tri-blend long sleeve, finisher medals and patches, age-division first place awards, a special 50K finisher medal, a 100K finisher buckle, and a DFL award for the 100K. Aid stations, course marking, and photography are provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
