NCR Marathon & Half Marathon : Event overview
The Baltimore Road Runners Club presents the 36th NCR Marathon and NCR Half Marathon on Saturday, November 29, 2025 in Sparks Glencoe, MD (1500 Glencoe Rd). The event includes these distances:
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
Both races are USATF certified and listed as Boston Marathon qualifier courses. Chip timing is used. Time limits are published for each race.
Course, logistics and awards
The course is an out-and-back primarily on the Northern Central Railroad Trail (Torrey C. Brown Trail), a crushed gravel and dirt rail trail that runs beside Big Gunpowder Falls. The marathon route has a net downhill of -151 feet and the majority of the course is on the flat rail trail. Aid is provided with water and Gatorade approximately every 3 to 3.5 miles; energy gels are available at miles 7, 14, 16, and 20.
Packet pickup is offered at Falls Road Running Store on the Friday before the race and on race morning at Oldfields School. Finishers receive a large blanket at the finish; registered participants receive a unisex hoody at packet pickup. Parking uses a satellite lot on York Road with bus transport to the school; limited parking at Oldfields is reserved for volunteers and carpools of three or more. Medals are given at the finish and awards are presented in the Oldfields gym; a cash bonus is available for a new marathon record. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
