About the race
The Night Howler 50 is a unique overnight 50-mile ultramarathon held at Hoover Sports Park East in Hoover, Alabama. Starting at sunset, runners tackle a 2.5-mile loop course featuring flat terrain with minor inclines, crossing a bridge over the Cahaba River and descending stairs into wooded trails. Participants complete 20 laps within a 16-hour cutoff to earn a custom belt buckle.
The event offers a full aid station at the start/finish area, where runners can also set up personal aid stations and receive pacing support. Known for its challenging nighttime atmosphere, the race welcomes both first-time 50-milers and seasoned ultrarunners seeking a fast course and memorable experience.
