About the race
Oak Mountain 50K, held in Pelham, Alabama, runs through Oak Mountain State Park—the largest state park in Alabama. The event marks the 25th annual Oak Mountain 50K and offers 50K and 25K distances, the second-oldest 50K in Alabama. Runners traverse forested hills on mostly single-track trails with two climbs to Double Oak Mountain, passing Peavine Falls, Maggie’s Glen, and Shackleford Point, the park’s highest point.
There are no loops. Elevation gain is about 3,600 feet. Four manned aid stations on the 50K, with finishers earning medals.
