Omaha Marathon
The Omaha Marathon is a locally run event organized by the Omaha Running Club. The 2026 event is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026. Distances offered include:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 5K
All courses are USATF certified and the marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifying race. The Omaha Running Club operates as a non-profit that supports local race management, trail clean-up and training. The event benefits the Omaha Police Department Foundation, the Council Bluffs Police Department and Heartland READY. The club offers training programs, including a 20-week marathon/half-marathon clinic and an 11-week women-only program.
Registered participants receive event apparel, a finisher's medal, a branded gift and post-race refreshments. All events are chip-timed. Discounts are available for military personnel and Omaha Running Club members; volunteer opportunities can also earn a free registration.
Race logistics
Time limits are six hours for the marathon and four hours for the half marathon. Aid stations are sited approximately every 2.0-3.0 miles and supply Gatorade and water; GU is available for marathoners near Mile 16.75. Gear check is not offered. Parking is available at Miller's Landing, 151 Freedom Park Road, and at the Gallup Corporate lot, 1001 Gallup Drive. The Finish Area is in a park setting near Miller's Landing beside the Missouri River. Pacers are provided and do not require prior sign-up.
