One Step Closer to the Cure Castaway 5K

One Step Closer to the Cure Castaway 5K & S.S. Minnow Mile is a tropical-themed fundraiser in downtown Saint Petersburg, Florida. The event offers a 5K Run/Walk and a 1 Mile Run/Walk, plus Sleep In and the Island Stiletto Dash.

New this year is the Island Stiletto Dash, where participants walk in stilettos in solidarity for ovarian cancer fighters. Inspired by Gilligan’s Island, attendees are encouraged to wear island attire. The course winds through downtown, and finishers receive a medal, shirt, and post-race refreshments.

Proceeds support the Celma Mastry Ovarian Cancer Foundation’s education, prevention, and research in the community. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
