The event takes place at Horsetooth Reservoir and Lory State Park near Fort Collins, Colorado. The race site and start/finish area are at Soldier Canyon Event Facility, 708 Lodgepole Dr., Bellvue, CO 80512. Fort Collins is described as about an hour north of Denver and is the recommended lodging base for participants. The course combines open-water swims in the reservoir with trail running through Lory State Park.

Race information
Packet pickup is mandatory the day before at Runner’s Roost in Fort Collins; there is an option for race-morning packet pickup for those who add it. Mandatory race-provided items include a color-coded swim cap, matching bib numbers, timing chip, and a Restube for solo racers. Athletes must provide shoes, a wetsuit (mandatory), a whistle, a compression bandage, and a tether. All distances share a single course cut-off at the official finish time. Awards are handed out as winners cross the finish line with top-three categories for team and solo divisions. Parking is limited and athletes should expect park entry procedures; spectators and late arrivals pay the park entry fee. Water stops supply plain water, electrolyte-infused water, and often gels; improper disposal of trash can lead to disqualification. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
