About the race

The Ouachita Switchbacks is a challenging trail running event held in Big Cedar, Oklahoma, featuring 50K, 25K, and 10-mile distances. Known as Oklahoma's toughest and most scenic ultra, the course traverses the rugged Ouachita Mountains with significant elevation changes and technical terrain. The race starts and finishes at the remote Pashubee Trailhead, offering a natural, facility-free setting.

The 10-mile race includes an out-and-back route to a striking rock glacier formation. Participants enjoy unique swag such as hoodies, mugs, hats, and handcrafted awards, along with a lively post-race party fostering camaraderie. The event has a rare inclement weather policy, postponing only if travel conditions are unsafe. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
