Over the River Run

Event overview

The 37th Over the River Run takes place on October 11, 2025, at the Old Mississippi River Bridge in Vicksburg. The event includes the following distances:

• 5-mile run
• 5-mile walk
• 1-mile fun run for kids The course crosses the Old Mississippi River Bridge and finishes back in Vicksburg. The event is directed by MS Race Timing and The Mississippi Track Club and is listed as a Grand Prix event. Proceeds benefit the Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation.

Logistics and rules

Packet pick up is scheduled the day before the race at the SCHF Auditorium (corner of Crawford and Cherry Street) and also before the event at the race site. Waivers must be physically signed by each participant or by a parent or legal guardian at packet pick up; participants cannot receive their packet or take part in the race without these signed waivers. No refunds will be issued, and packets or awards will not be mailed. Parking is available at the Ameristar Hotel or Casino. Headphones, rollerblades, strollers, bicycles, and animals are not allowed on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
