Peavine Peak Hill Climb - October 18, 2025

The Peavine Peak Hill Climb is the 2nd annual running event in Reno, Nevada. The start and finish are at Melton Elementary School, 6575 Archimedes Ln, Reno, NV 89523. The course distance is 9.4 miles with a total elevation gain of 3,018 ft.

Course

The route begins with about 0.5 mile on access roads and neighborhood trails before reaching Chalk Canyon. Runners ascend Chalk Canyon on singletrack for 2 miles to the first aid station at the Peavine Road intersection.

From the aid station the course turns onto a steep, rocky ATV trail on Tower Ridge to the summit of Peavine Peak. After crossing the summit runners descend 2.4 miles on the smooth dirt of Peavine Road to a second aid station at the top of Chalk Canyon, then return down the canyon back to Melton Elementary School.
