Phomo 50k

Event

PhoMo 50K is a trail ultramarathon held on November 8, 2025, in the Phoenix Mountain Preserves with the start and finish at the Piestewa Peak Cholla Ramada (5992 Piestewa Peak Dr, Phoenix, AZ). The race distance is 50 km (31.2 miles) and the field is limited to 50 participants. Crew access is allowed at accessible trailheads. All entrants receive event swag including a commemorative BOCO hat for those registered by 10/20/2025. The event takes place rain or shine and registration is nonrefundable.

Course and logistics

The course is an out-and-back through Piestewa Peak, Shaw Butte and other singletrack in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. Trails are rocky and can be technical, with very minimal shade and about 6,000+ ft of elevation gain and loss. The route will not be marked; GPX coordinates are provided for upload to watches or smartphones. Aid stations are planned at miles 9.9 and 26.2 (Dreamy Draw Trailhead ramada area). Water fountains and restrooms are available at 40th St Trailhead, Dreamy Draw Trailhead, North Mountain Visitor Center and Piestewa Peak Dr. Participants are advised to carry sufficient water and nutrition; a hydration vest is recommended. Pacers are allowed beginning at the first pass through Dreamy Draw. Runners will be manually timed and must check in with an aid station volunteer at Dreamy Draw on both passes.
