Pilot Mountain Goat

Pilot Mountain Goat is a mountain-running event at Pilot Mountain State Park near Pinnacle, NC. It offers two distances: 3 and 7 miles, starting in the campground and finishing at the summit, with runners descending on their own or arranging a ride back. The 3-mile route climbs Grindstone Trail to the upper parking lot, then over Pilot Knob and back along a sidewalk finish.

The 7-mile loop uses Grindstone, Mountain, and Pilot Knob trails around the back of the mountain to the summit. Capacity is 150 runners; post-race breakfast, awards, and a beanie are included. Packet pickup Friday and race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
