Event overview
The Pioneer Power Sprint Triathlon & 5k is a multi-event race held at Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX. The event includes an individual sprint triathlon, a three-person relay, a three-person team competition and a separate 5K open to runners and walkers. Team and relay divisions are male, female and coed. The triathlon is sanctioned and conducted in accordance with USA Triathlon rules. Profits will benefit the Texas Woman's University soccer team. Dallas Athletes Racing is the producing organization.

Competition format, packet pickup and awards
The team competition requires each team member to complete all three triathlon components; overall times for three members are combined for a team result. The three-person relay assigns one triathlon component to each relay member and combines their times. Triathlon age groups are in five-year increments; the event also uses Athena and Clydesdale categories and masters/grand masters classifications. Awards are given by age group and overall; relay and team events receive single-place awards. Registered participants receive a tech shirt, finisher medal and socks.
